One of the basic tenets of writing is write what you know. Now I consider myself a fairly well-rounded person, but if we want to discuss topics I'm intimately familiar with, then dieting is at the top of a very short list.

Despite what the wonderful photo at the right suggests, I'm a guy, and guys aren't generally known for their dieting -- even less so for perma-dieting. I decided that maybe the world should know about guys like me if there was room on the shelf for just one more diet-related book.

That's when the vision of shelves upon shelves of diet books really hit me. There were lots of diet books. Lots and LOTS of diet books. Millions of pages in print and no one really improving their situation in signficant numbers. Something was wrong. Perhaps it was time for the opposite of a "diet book". Perhaps it was time to point out the lack of clothing on the emperor. "Hey, people. Am I the only one who's noticed that every successful diet program out their loudly proclaims the exact same thing: results not typical?"

This book is my response. And I can loudly proclaim that no diet book has ever solved the weight issue. Mine will not be the first.
